i love this picture, the antlers are have been kept in the church for donkeys,(six white + six black) so to include the old pagan rite into the new christianity. they're given back one day a year in september when they villagers perform a fertility dance and run through the streets before handing all the regalia back to the church ready for the next year. they end up in the pub. we should go.

They are reindeer antlers carbon dating to approx 900 years olds !!! And even these are probably replacing an even older set. It is thought the antlers came over on the reindeer from Scandanavia.
